SPLIT: The EARLY Years: FOR PROFESSIONALS
This video is 35 minutes, and will be available to you for 72 hours.
Welcome to a screening of SPLIT: The EARLY Years.
As a professional and point of first contact for families, you can significantly influence your client’s divorce experience. When you understand how kids experience divorce, you can better identify a family’s needs and connect them to appropriate support.
SPLIT: The EARLY Years and The SPLIT Film Guide can be very effective tools for your work with both kids and parents. If you are a therapist, counselor, social worker, parent educator, teacher, youth worker, family lawyer, mediator, member of the clergy-anyone helping kids and families through the tough times of divorce - you can use these materials in one-on-one sessions, or in group settings.
You are about to watch SPLIT: The EARLY Years with the guidance of divorce-parenting expert Christina McGhee. Christina will introduce the film and then return after the film to give you tips and suggestions on how to:
*Use the film in your work with clients
*Share SPLIT with your clients at home
*Encourage clients to share the film with their children
*Use SPLIT in staff trainings
*Host a training with the film
*Host a community screening
*Promote your practice
After watching the film, we encourage you to look at The SPLIT Film Guide. Each chapter of the Guide has three sections to guide your work: Things to Know, Talking to Parents, and Talking to Kids. The Guide in hardcopy, or a PDF download of the GUIDE, is available HERE.
We hope the stories of these 12 amazing kids offer you helpful insights to better support your clients. We believe that together we can truly make a difference for children of divorce.
Our best,
Ellen Bruno, Film Producer and Director
